About

What this site is

Jewish Starter Kits is a collection of practical shopping checklists for Jewish families starting new chapters of life — a first apartment, a new baby, a wedding, hosting Yom Tov, and more to come.

Each kit is a single organized list of what to buy, grouped by category and marked so you can tell day-one essentials from things that can wait. The goal is to give you one trustworthy place to start, instead of piecing together advice from a dozen different sites and group chats.

Why we built it

Setting up a Jewish home means buying a lot of things at once — regular household items plus the specifically Jewish ones (separate meat and dairy dishes, candlesticks, mezuzah cases, a hot plate, and so on). The lists that exist online are either generic, scattered, or out of date. We wanted one place where someone could see the whole picture and not forget anything important.

What's coming

First Home is the first kit. We're working on more — New Baby, Wedding, Yom Tov hosting, and others. Each one will get the same treatment: practical, organized, and focused on what to actually buy.
